WHO WE ARE.

25+ YEARS CREATING EXPERIENCES FOR GROWING CHURCHES.

THE STORY OF EPIC

2001

Brandon Chynoweth founds EPIC in Dallas.

A worship leader turned designer, Brandon names the company around the experience he wants every room to deliver: Experience, Participate, Inspire, Connect.

2004

Brandon meets Matt Wheeler.

Then Senior Audio Engineer at Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Matt begins moonlighting on EPIC projects. In this era, EPIC is Brandon and a handful of trusted contractors serving churches.

2008

EPIC formally incorporates.

What started as Brandon and some contractors became a very real company with a real calling and a real structure. The work doesn't change, but the commitment does.

2012

A new transparent business model changes everything.

EPIC launches a transparent business model that reframes the company as an extension of each client’s staff instead of a vendor selling equipment. Churches finally see what they’re investing in, and why.

2014

EPIC triples in two years.

The partner model proves itself. Word travels through the church world the way it always does — pastor to pastor, tech director to tech director — and the calendar fills up. None of it from marketing, all of it from relationships and reputation.

2017

4K lens-to-lens at First Baptist Arlington.

EPIC designs and integrates the first large-scale 4K/60p production system in the United States – creating a space for fully functional orchestral and modern worship services for two totally different kinds of services that can be flipped within minutes. One of the most ambitious projects in the entire country.

2022

EPIC moves into the hangar.

To keep up with demand, the team builds out a design studio inside a historic World War I airplane hangar. Half design studio, half staging environment, all proof of concept. You can walk in and see how the sausage gets made.

2023

"Every Seat Matters" becomes the standard.

What started as a phrase becomes a design discipline. Every speaker placement, every sight line, every lighting cue measured against one question: does the person in the back row get the same experience as the person in the front?

2024

UpperRoom Dallas goes 360°.

EPIC turns a raw industrial space into one of the most immersive rooms in worship — over 100 speakers placed around the congregation, support columns no longer in the way of the sound, and a reverb that makes the room feel cathedral-sized. The ministry streams worship 72 hours a week to as many as 10,000 viewers a day.

TODAY

Full-stack AVLA for creating the most immersive worship experiences in the world.

Audio, video, lighting, acoustics — designed and built as one system, so every seat gets the same experience as the front row. EPIC works with churches across the country, and the calendar still fills up almost entirely by word of mouth.

WHAT WE BELIEVE.

Experience Participate Inspire Connect

We share anything, anytime.

We are the only AVLA company that will share every detail of every project down to the margin on every single line item. Ask and you shall receive.
ON BIDS
We've never believed that the right partner is simply the lowest price offer. The churches we serve want a team they can trust. We've been earning trust for 25+ years.
ON PRICING
Most integrators build variable margin into the gear price, so you never really know what you’re paying for. We don’t do that. The scope we propose is the scope your room actually needs. So that you know exactly what you’re investing in at all times.
ON MARGIN
We believe transparency is part of the partnership. Which is why he help you we help you understand our exact business model before the project starts. You’ll know everything about your investment from day one without guessing.
ON PARTNERSHIP
When we finish a project, we don’t disappear. We serve churches for decades after they’ve partnered with us. If you need anything, call us. Text us. Email us. Or even send us a carrier pigeon.

CAN WE INVITE YOU TO COFFEE?

If you’re in Fort Worth / Dallas, Texas, we’d love to do coffee in person. If not, coffee on Zoom sounds nice too.
